Blending sounds to read words

Demo tutor
Hello! Today's demo lesson is Blending sounds to read words. Here is the big idea, one step at a time:
- Every letter makes a sound. To read a short word, we say each sound and then push the sounds together. This is called blending.
- c – a – t. Say the sounds slowly, then faster and faster: c-a-t, c-at, cat!
- The middle sound in many short words is a vowel: a, e, i, o or u. Listen carefully to it. It changes the word: bat, bet, bit, but.
