Hello! Today's demo lesson is More, less and equal. Here is the big idea, one step at a time:
- When we count, every number tells us how many things there are. The number after a number is one more. The number before it is one less.
- To compare two groups, count each group. The group with the bigger number has more. The group with the smaller number has less. If both numbers are the same, the groups are equal.
- Counting on a number line helps. Numbers get bigger as you go to the right: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. So 9 is more than 6, because 9 comes after 6.
