Hello! Today's demo lesson is Common and proper nouns. Here is the big idea, one step at a time:
- A noun is a naming word. It names a person, a place, an animal or a thing: girl, school, parrot, pencil.
- A common noun names any one of a kind, like city, river or teacher. It starts with a small letter unless it begins a sentence.
- A proper noun names one particular person, place or thing, like Riya, Delhi or the Ganga. A proper noun always starts with a capital letter.
